Image Production Proposal
MY PROPOSAL: The recreation of movie scenes with the artistic styles of different visual entertainment mediums.
I intend to achieve the recreated shots of movie scenes using a maximum of two individuals and backgrounds from the movie scenes to replace the backgrounds of the photos I have taken. After all editing is done Adobe Photoshop® all that should or in most cases will remain is the faces of the subjects involved. Effects I intend on using include film grain, Lomography and several illustration-based book styles such as manga and comics. Also, along with these visual effects will be several adjustments to clothing colours, lighting and any other adjustment necessary to help resemble the scene as effectively as possible before the addition of visual effects.
I decided to choose this idea for my assignment as I've always dreamt of being immortalized in the credits of a movie or video game, seeing make work and effort acknowledged among others. When watching a movie most people only notice the actors involved and the director, but there is so much more to it than just that, there's a screenwriter, a casting director, a costume designer, a CGI crew and so much more and by doing this I feel i can put myself in the right direction of this dream and be a part of that movie magic.
One style of comic book effects I intend to recreate:
Film Grain effect
Lomography effect:
An Image I intend to recreate particularly because of the disintegration effect
I have chosen to do this because I am deeply interested in visual media forms such as film television videogames and comic books and I would like to recreate scenes in different visual styles as if they were made to be used in a different medium of visual entertainment.
An image which amused and inspired me to do this.
Another image that I liked but with intent of editing more so that the toilet rolls and the background is replaced with actual movie props.
I was inspired by the work of Dennis Dunbar who is a composite artist and retoucher. Who takes images from movie and uses Photoshop for colour correction, editing and perfecting layer masks so that each layer is combined without feeling out of place next to each other.
